Norwegian voice over – made easy

Choose from voices that are hand-picked for their:

  • Engaging tone
  • Broadcast sound quality
  • Reliability and professionalism

Access a wide range of French voice-overs (with demos categorised by style) including:

  • vibrant, young talent
  • 30s and older, more experienced voices
  • child voice actors.

Ask about guidance with:

  • Casting
  • Script formatting
  • Timing and localisation

Because we are a full localisation provider, we understand how translation choices and script preparation affect recording quality, synchronisation and overall turnaround. Good planning can significantly improve production efficiency and final quality across multilingual projects.

Choosing the right Norwegian voice talent

Although there is no official spoken form of Norwegian, most national projects – whether advertisement, educational, or corporate – use the østnorsk dialect from Eastern Norway.  Considered an unofficial standard, it is from the Oslo region, and roughly equates to the Bokmål written form.

Broadcast media in Norway is, however, very dialect-diverse.  Although traditional media may still predominantly use østnorsk , modern media’s preference for variety ensures you hear a wide and vibrant array of accents from across the country.

Ask us for guidance on selecting the right Norwegian voice actor or narrator for your project.

FAQs about Norwegian voice over

Do I need a native Norwegian speaker?
Yes.  A native speaker to Norway will help the viewers to connect and engage with your content – because it feels local, relevant and vibrant.

Can you translate into Norwegian as well?
Yes. We support translation and adaptation to ensure scripts sound natural before recording.

What is the difference between a Norwegian voice actor and a narrator?
In practice, the terms are often used interchangeably. “Voice actor” is more common for commercial, character or advertising work (where voice talent acts, to meet the vision and bring characters / concepts to life).  On the other hand, the term “narrator” is used for eLearning, corporate and documentary content – where the talent narrates. We can recommend the right style based on your project.

When I contacted VTO, I thought I was asking for more than what was possible. I needed three child actors and two adult actors to turn around a script within four days ... all around a holiday weekend. VTO not only delivered, they also responded quickly, communicated consistently, and every reading was perfect. I look forward to working with them again!

Leslie Harris

We worked with Harry to source a VO suitable for our video and received the file quickly, with no amends required. Great communication throughout.

Deborah

Harry helped us source several samples, and record a voiceover for a conference opener, and they were able to curate a re-record after a script change. Quality of the delivery was great.
